Chris Carmichael is running for U.S. House of Representatives Kansas District 4 to make life more affordable and secure for Kansas families. He’ll fight to lower costs, protect Social Security, and create better-paying jobs so families can get ahead — not just get by.

Basics shouldn’t break the bank.

Chris believes no one should have to choose between groceries, gas, or medicine. He will push for livable wages, lower healthcare costs, and quality jobs so families can get ahead — not just get by.

The Issues

  • Kansans work hard, but Washington isn’t working for them.

Prices keep going up — at the store, the gas pump, and the doctor’s office. Families are paying more but not earning more.

Chris Carmichael believes the basics shouldn’t break the bank.

    Here’s how he’ll lower costs:

    • Roll back tariffs that drive up the cost of goods and materials

    • Increase competition and take on monopolies that keep prices high

    • Strengthen supply chains so Kansas businesses can grow and hire locally

Chris will focus on practical solutions that bring prices down and put more money back in your pocket.

  • Health care is not a luxury it’s a basic need.

Right now, families are paying high premiums and high deductibles — and still struggling to get care.

Chris believes health care should put patients first — not profits.

Chris believes every Kansan should be able to see a doctor, afford their medicine, and get care when they need it.

Chris will bring costs down by:

    • Letting Medicare negotiate directly with drug companies

    • Taking on monopolies and increasing competition to lower prices

    • Reforming pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and requiring real price transparency

    • Protecting and strengthening rural hospitals so care stays close to home

Health care should be affordable, simple, and available when you need it.

  • Buying a home is getting out of reach for too many Kansas families.

The problem isn’t just demand — it’s the rising cost to build and a lack of affordable homes.

Chris will help bring housing costs down by:

    • Rolling back tariffs that increase the cost of building materials

    • Making it easier to build affordable homes — not just high-end housing

    • Supporting tax relief that helps families stay in their homes

    • Pushing back on practices that drive up prices and limit access to homeownership

Everyone deserves a fair shot at owning a home.

  • You worked hard and paid into Social Security — you earned it.

    Chris Carmichael will:

    • Oppose any cuts or privatization

    • Protect long-term funding so benefits are secure

    • Make sure seniors can retire with dignity and stability

Social Security is a promise — and Chris will keep it.

  • After more than 30 years in uniform, Chris knows what service means.

Too many veterans still struggle to access the care and benefits they’ve earned.

    Chris will:

    • Protect VA funding and improve access to care across Kansas

    • Cut red tape so veterans can get help faster

    • Expand access to mental health services and job training

No veteran should be left behind.

  • Chris Carmichael has spent his life defending freedom.

He believes our rights belong to the people.

    In Congress, Chris will:

    • Protect free speech and constitutional rights

    • Keep government accountable and transparent

    • Respect the rule of law and individual freedoms

Government should work for the people — not the other way around.

  • Family farms are the backbone of Kansas — but they’re under pressure.

Costs for equipment, fuel, and fertilizer keep rising, while crop prices struggle to keep up.

Right now, global instability is making things worse. The war involving Iran has disrupted key supply routes for fertilizer, driving prices up and putting even more strain on farmers.

At the same time, tariffs and trade policies have raised the cost of equipment and limited access to markets.

Chris will fight for family farmers by:

    • Rolling back tariffs that raise the cost of equipment and inputs

    • Strengthening supply chains so farmers aren’t hit by global disruptions

    • Supporting fair markets and taking on monopolies that squeeze farmers

    • Expanding access to markets so Kansas farmers can compete and grow

Kansas farmers deserve a fair shot — not a system stacked against them.

  • Artificial intelligence is changing how we work and how our economy runs. It can create opportunity — but without rules, it can replace jobs, raise energy use, and put profits ahead of people.

Chris believes we should lead in new technology while protecting Kansas workers and our environment.

    Chris will:

    • Set clear, common-sense rules on AI to protect jobs and prevent abuse

    • Hold big tech companies accountable so they don’t replace workers just to boost profits

    • Invest in job training so Kansas workers can succeed in a changing economy

    • Require energy-efficient standards for AI and data centers to protect our land, water, and power grid

    • Support American-made clean energy so new technology creates jobs without driving up costs or pollution

    • Protect privacy and make sure personal data isn’t misused

Technology should work for people, strengthen our economy, and protect the land we pass on to the next generation.

About Chris Carmichael

Chris Carmichael achieved the American Dream.  He is the first in his family to get a college degree and the first of his military family to go from Enlisted to an Officer.  Despite Chris’ rough upbringing as a kidnapped and abused child he was able to make his goals a reality.

Chris is a proud veteran who served for more than 31 years in the U.S. Army and Air Force, including over two years in Afghanistan. He retired as a Colonel and earned the Bronze Star for his leadership and service.

A Midwest kid, Chris was born and raised in Ohio. But when it came time to choose a place to call his forever home, Chris chose Kansas. He and his wife are proud parents of three grown children who keep him grounded and focused on what matters most — family and community.

Chris is running for Congress to serve Kansans the same way he served his country — with strong leadership grounded with integrity, fairness, and respect for everyone.

As the father of a police officer, Chris knows that safe communities start with trust. Good officers need to be supported and encouraged while making sure that no one is above the law, including those enforcing it.

Guided by empathy and common sense, Chris is listening, ready to lead, and support the needs of all Kansans — no matter their background or political beliefs.
